Pinguicula 'Florian' is a charming hybrid created by Oliver Gluchs between Pinguicula debbertiana and Pinguicula jaumavensis 'Pale Purple Flower'. Developed between 1998 and 1999 and named after his eldest son, it was officially registered as a cultivar in 2004.
This butterwort is prized for its compact size and vivid red coloration when grown under strong light. It exhibits remarkable seasonal leaf variation-producing up to 25 carnivorous leaves in summer and as many as 100 succulent leaves in winter, depending on care. A delightful addition for growers who appreciate dynamic growth and vibrant foliage.
